Though somehow I suspect that it may have originally been written that way and then revised at the last minute when some people were concerned that not enough of the viewing audience would get the reference.

Also…for crap's sake, Nick, the man more-or-less shouted "Here I am, come and get me" and then proceeded to giggle as you chased him. (Insofar as any sound Reg E. Cathey makes can be called "giggling.") Even if you didn't already suspect a trap earlier, how did you not see one coming right then?

Although…hm. Maybe he did see it coming? Maybe Nick knew exactly what he was walking into, and allowed himself to be set up in this way so that he could be taken directly to the seat of power. One does not simply walk into Mordor, after all…but maybe one can be FedExed there in a steel coffin? Yeah…it'd be nice to think that he planned this out that well, but based on Juliette's surprise that he wasn't right behind them when they got to the car, I'm gonna guess not.

Speaking of the car…how will our intrepid heroes get out of this one? Well, Eric is at the shipyard. Renard was following Eric. I am looking forward to some serious rescue badassery on the part of Le Capitaine later. Was he wearing a flowy black coat in the last scene where we saw him? Oh please say he was wearing a flowy black coat. (*Runs and checks scene*) Brown coat. But still potentially flowy! Sean Renard, Zombi Hunter? Get that man a shotgun!Ellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17725013257536616571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271373189216022547.post-59327912861376127012013-05-29T07:19:42.739-07:002013-05-29T07:19:42.739-07:00First of all, I love love love your blog which I d...First of all, I love love love your blog which I discovered about a month ago. What pleasure to read your analysis about something I would otherwise have to obsess about alone! And even then, such deep-going analysis would not be satisfactory done less intelligently - hey, I have standards!

Hoping to at least not bring your standards down, I do have a couple of discussion points to offer here.

- I do not think that Eric's seeing the Baron woge is conclusive proof that the Royals (or even just Eric) can see woge generally. After all, the Baron is showing off here, a bit like Monroe has demonstrated woge to Hank and Juliette. Not conclusive proof thus. Even though I do tend to believe that Royals can (must be able to) see woge in general.

- Renard's ring being his mother's wedding band? WAS his mother married? Not to his royal father, anyway. Minor squibble, just to prove that I read every word..

- Renard's mother being Nick's mother's friend seems to me extremely unlikely. Not because it's far-fetched (some of your theories are and I love that!) but because of the way Kelly reacted to Nick being friends with Wesen. It did not seem to be a concept familiar or even thinkable to her. Although, admittedly, a lot can change in twenty years.

I so do hope you'll find something to write about Grimm (okay, the Captain, really) in the months before the third season. Otherwise they'll be very long and dark months indeed.Justine Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13080619935561422449noreply@blogger.com
